China seeks study of Zhejiang Province tidal project

The China Renewable Energy Scale-up Program (CRESP) invites expressions of interest from consultants to perform a pre-feasibility study of a 2- to 3-MW tidal power pilot project in Zhejiang Province. Responses are due February 5.

With World Bank funding, CRESP was formed by China's National Development and Reform Commission to help implement renewable energy development and investment, including hydropower. (HNN 11/11/08)

The CRESP Project Management Office plans to hire consultants for a pre-feasibility study of the Zhejiang tidal pilot project, one of four pilot projects to be supported under CRESP. The objective is to prepare for project bidding of the next stage to select investors or sponsors to construct and operate the project.

Activity is to include a geological survey at the dam site, pre-feasibility study report preparation, and technical support in the project bidding process. The work is expected to require 100 person-months over 15 months, beginning in about May.

Consultants are invited to submit expressions of interest, and qualifications, by February 5.
