  • India seeks powerhouse construction for 240-MW Lower Jurala

    State-owned Andhra Pradesh Power Generation Corp. (APGENCO) seeks bids for construction of the powerhouse and related works of the 240-MW Lower Jurala hydroelectric project on the Krishna River in India's Andhra Pradesh State. Bids due January 28, 2009.

    Lower Jurala is being built 7.9 kilometers downstream from the 234-MW Priyadarshini Jurala project in Mahaboobnagar District of Andhra Pradesh. APGENCO awarded a contract in November to Alstom Hydro for turnkey supply of six 40-MW bulb turbine-generators and auxiliary equipment. (HNN 11/12/08)

    The current solicitation includes construction of powerhouse civil works including intake, draft tube, superstructure, switchyard works, gates, and hoists. The value of the work is estimated at 1.25 billion rupees (US$25.4 million).
