With World Bank financing, the government seeks a consultant to prepare integrated water resources management and development plans for Rufiji Basin and an internal drainage basin to Lake Eyasi, Manyara, and Bubu Complex. It issued an earlier invitation in July. (HNN 7/9/08)
Work is to include a water resources assessment phase and a planning phase, including development of plans for water resources management, protection of water resources, and institutional strengthening and capacity building in the basin.
The Rufiji River is the site of the proposed 900-MW Stieglers Gorge hydroelectric project promoted by the government-owned Rufiji Basin Development Authority. (HNN 5/23/08)
Expressions of interest and qualifications, marked �Tender No. ME-O11/2007/08/C/09 for the Expression of Interest for Provision of Consultancy Services for (i) Preparation of Integrated Water Resources Management and Development Plans for Rufiji Basin; and/or (ii) Preparation of Integrated Water Resources Management and Development Plans for Internal Drainage Basin,� are due to the address below by 10 a.m. December 5.
