India utility seeks study of 600-MW Malshej Ghat pumped-storage

Nuclear Power Corp. of India Ltd. (NPCIL) seeks bids for preparation of a detailed project report on the 600-MW Malshej Ghat pumped-storage project planned for India's Maharashtra State. Bids are due November 4.

NPCIL estimated the work will require 12 months at a cost of 48.5 million rupees (US$1.12 million).

Bid documents may be obtained until October 23 from the first address below for 1,500 rupees (US$35) by crossed demand draft to Manager (F&A), Nuclear Power Corp. of India Ltd., Mumbai. The request must be labeled "Request for Tender Document No. NPCIL/BD/MG-PSS/02. The documents also may be obtained from the NPCIL Internet site, www.npcil.nic.in, with the document fee paid at with the bid submission. Those obtaining documents from the Internet should provide company contact information to the second address below so compiled responses to queries may be sent to them.

A pre-bid meeting is scheduled October 31. Bids are due by 3:30 p.m. November 4.
