The hydro project study also is to examine construction of transmission and distribution facilities for power deliveries in northern Cameroon and for exports to Chad and Nigeria. TDA said the plant would provide the isolated Northern Province needed power and the national government needed revenues from power exports.
The contract is open to U.S. firms only. The U.S. firm may use subcontractors from the host country for up to 20 percent of the TDA grant amount.
