All sources of generation are eligible, including hydro, ocean current, and wave energy sources. (HNN 6/4/08) Proposals will compete with Progress Energy's self-build option, a high-efficiency, combined-cycle natural gas unit to be built at its power plant in Suwannee County, Fla. The proposed unit would have an in-service date of June 1, 2013.
Progress Energy issued the RFP in accordance with Florida Public Service Commission rules on its Internet site, www.progress-energy.com/PEF2013RFP. Registered users can obtain the RFP package from the site.
