National Hydroelectric Power Corp. (NHPC) has extended the deadlines for bids to supply hydro-mechanical equipment for the 45-MW Nimoo Bazgo and 44-MW Chutak projects in India. Bids now are due January 15 and 17.
NHPC previously sought bids January 4 equip Nimoo Bazgo and January 7 to equip Chutak. (HNN 11/2/07)

NHPC awarded civil works contracts in 2006 to Hindustan Construction Co. Ltd. to build both projects. Bharat Heavy Electricals received a contract in October to supply electro-mechanical equipment to Chutak. (HNN 10/10/07)

NHPC seeks bids by 2 p.m. January 15 to equip Nimoo Bazgo, being built on the Indus River in Jammu &Kashmir State. Work includes a spillway radial gate and stoplog, fixed-wheel intake gate, intake bulkhead gate, vertical trash rack, draft tube slide gate, penstock liners, hoists, gantry cranes, automatic reservoir monitoring and control, diesel generator, and suitable deicing arrangements. 44-MW Chutak
NHPC seeks bids by 2 p.m. January 17 to equip Chutak, being built on the Saru River in Jammu &Kashmir. Work includes a spillway radial gate and stoplog, fixed-wheel intake gate, intake bulkhead gate, trash rack, surge shaft tube slide gate, fixed wheel draft tube gate, hinge-type adit inspection gates, pressure shaft liner, hoists, gantry cranes, remote control system, and suitable deicing arrangements. Time for completion is 30 months.
Bid documents for each project may be obtained until January 11 from NHPC's Internet site, www.nhpcindia.com, or in person or by writing, from the address below. A document fee is required, for each project, of 5,000 rupees or US$125 by demand draft to National Hydroelectric Power Corp. Ltd. at Faridabad. It is payable with the document request or, if the documents are downloaded, with a confirmation letter, due to the address below.
