VA Tech Hydro supplies turbines to two Swiss hydro projects

The Swiss office of VA Tech Hydro AG has received contracts to supply replacement runners to two Swiss hydroelectric projects.

SBB Infrastruktur, a unit of Swiss federal railway SBB, awarded a 1.15 million franc (US$944,800) contract to VA Tech Hydro to supply Pelton turbine runners for the 124-MW Chatelard hydroelectric project at Finhaut, Switzerland. (HNN 8/4/06)

In a separate contract, hydro operator Kraftwerk Amsteg AG awarded a 710,655 franc (US$581,308) contract to VA Tech Hydro to supply a Pelton runner for the 56-MW Amsteg hydro project at Amsteg, Switzerland.
