National Hydroelectric Power Corp. (NHPC) again has extended the pre-qualification deadline for turnkey construction of the 1,000-MW Pakal Dul project on the Chenab River in India's Jammu &Kashmir State. Responses are due March 16.
The solicitation for Pakal Dul, which has been pending since 2006, includes all civil structures, four 250-MW Francis turbine-generators, and hydro-mechanical works. (HNN 9/27/06)
NHPC issued modifications to qualifying criteria and said any additional firms meeting eligibility criteria may respond by March 16. If such firms establish their credentials, �a reasonable period shall be allowed for submission of PQ application,� NHPC said. If no such responses are received, pre-qualification will be closed, it said.
