Austria seeks automation for 16-MW Werfen/Pfarrwerfen

Verbund Austrian Hydro Power AG seeks bids to supply automation equipment for the 16-MW Werfen/Pfarrwerfen hydroelectric project being built on Austria's Salzach River. Responses are due April 4.

Verbund seeks bids for planning, supply, assembly, and start up of entire power station instrumentation as well as links to existing control systems of power stations on the middle Salzach.

The 61.5 million euro (US$74.3 million) project is to have two 8-MW Kaplan units designed for a flow of 100 cms and a head of 11.4 meters. (HNN 12/20/06) The utilities hope to complete the plant by 2008.
