The Corps of Engineers seeks proposals to replace circuit breakers at 132.3-MW Gavins Point Dam on the Missouri River in South Dakota and Nebraska. Bids are due Sept. 19.

The work will include turnkey replacement of eight 115kV oil-filled circuit breakers with government-furnished SF6 power circuit breakers, replacement of capacitor coupled potential devices, and replacement of motor operators on seven air break disconnect switches. The government estimates the cost of the work to be between $250,000 and $500,000.

The contractor is to begin work within 10 days after receiving a notice to proceed, and complete the work with 12 months.
