  • India's NHPC seeks builder for 1,000-MW Pakal Dul

    India's National Hydroelectric Power Corp. invites applications for pre-qualification by June 12 for turnkey construction of the 1,000-MW Pakal Dul hydroelectric project on the Chenab River in Jammu &Kashmir State.

    The project is to include planning, design, engineering, and construction of all civil structures, including a coffer dam, concrete-faced rockfill dam, headrace tunnel, pressure shaft, underground powerhouse, and a switchyard. The contract also is to include design, manufacturing, installation, and commissioning of four 250-MW Francis turbine-generators, as well as hydro-mechanical works including gates, trashracks, and steel pressure shaft liner.

    Pre-qualification documents may be obtained until June 9 from the address below for 40,000 rupees (US$1,000) by demand draft to National Hydroelectric Power Corp. Ltd. at Faridabad. The request is to be labeled "Request for Pre-qualification Invitation Document for Turnkey Execution for Pakal Dul (Drangdhuran) H.E. Project." The documents also may be obtained from the NHPC Internet site, www.nhpcindia.com, with the document fee to be submitted with the application for pre-qualification.
