  • Pakistan seeks study of 5,458-MW Bunji

    Pakistan's Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) invites expressions of interest from consultants to perform a feasibility study and design work for the 5,458-MW Bunji hydroelectric project at Jaglot on Pakistan's Indus River. Responses are due April 29.

    WAPDA seeks a feasibility study, detailed engineering design, and preparation of tender documents by firms or joint ventures of domestic and foreign consultants registered with the Pakistan Engineering Council.

    A pre-feasibility study has been performed on Bunji, which is to have a 180-meter-tall dam, four 6,500-meter-long headrace tunnels, a design discharge of 1,500 cms, and an average annual energy production of 21,250 gigawatt-hours.

    Pre-qualification documents may be obtained from the address below for 2,000 rupees (US$33.35). Expressions of interest are due by 11 a.m. April 29. WAPDA plans to invite bids from a selected short list.
