India state seeks new penstock for 600-kW Sidrapong

West Bengal State Electricity Board (WBSEB) invites bids by March 17 for replacement of penstock equipment at India's oldest hydroelectric plant, the 600-kW Sidrapong project, in Darjeeling, West Bengal State.

WBSEB seeks fabrication, supply, and installation of penstock bends, trifurcation, saddle plates, and penstock expansion joints for Sidrapong, which began operation in 1897 as the Jubilee powerhouse. The plant has three 200-kW units.

Bid documents may be obtained until March 10 for 200 rupees (US$4.50) from the office of Divisional Manager (Civil) Darjeeling Civil Construction/Maintenance Division, M.V. Road, Kurseong. Documents will not be delivered.
